Privacy Policy

Patterson Hornworks, LLC respects customer privacy. Personal information that we gather from you may include your name, email address, phone number, billing/shipping address, and your credit card information. We use this information to process orders, keep you informed about promotions and special offers, and provide you with excellent customer service. We do not share, sell or otherwise distribute this personal information to third parties, and we process all transactions securely and confidentially as required by law.

Horn Trial Policy

A 7-day trial period is included with all instruments. The customer must pay the full price of the instrument plus any applicable shipping charges before the trial can begin. Patterson Hornworks will insure and ship the item to the customer unless it is picked up in our shop. The customer is required to report any shipping damages immediately upon receipt. Seven days after the customer’s receipt of the instrument, he or she is obligated to either return the instrument (at the customer’s expense) or purchase it. Patterson Hornworks must be notified by phone or email that the customer wishes to return the instrument before sending it back. In the event that the instrument is returned, we will process a full refund (minus shipping costs) after it is inspected and declared to be in the same condition in which it was shipped to the customer. If the instrument is declared to have been damaged by the customer, repair and depreciation costs will be taken out of the deposit. The customer is responsible for any damage that may have occurred in transit back to Patterson Hornworks. We highly encourage the customer to purchase shipping insurance. Instruments returned after the trial period has ended may not be accepted.

Return Policy

Returns are permitted upon approval within 7 days of merchandise receipt. The buyer must contact Patterson Hornworks by email or phone to obtain approval. We cannot accept a return if it is damaged or shows wear beyond the condition in which it left our shop. Refunds are given in the amount of the purchase price and any applicable sales tax paid. No refunds can be given for shipping charges. The buyer is responsible for return shipping and applicable shipping insurance fees.

Overdue Invoice Policy

Any overdue invoice may be subject to additional late fees.

Consignment Procedure and Policy

To consign an instrument with us, please follow these steps:

Contact us via our Contact form, email us at info@hornworks.com, or call us at (575) 373-0789.

Bring or ship the instrument to our shop. Make sure to include your contact information as well as any important information about the horn.

We’ll contact you about any work the horn may need before it can be sold.

After the horn is sold and the purchaser’s 7-day trial period has passed, we’ll send you a check based on the actual sales price minus the consignment fee, cleaning fee, and any repairs, if applicable.

Our current consignment fee is 20% with a minimum fee of $400.

The consigner’s item will be prepared for sale and listed on our website. Please allow 2-3 weeks for us to prepare an instrument before posting photos on our website. Patterson Hornworks will display the item alongside our selection of new and pre-owned instruments in our shop. We may also transport the item to trade shows and workshops.

There are no upfront costs to consign a horn unless the horn requires extensive repair or restoration. The item will be listed and sold for a price mutually agreed to by both the consigner and Patterson Hornworks. A consignment fee based on the final sale price will be deducted from the proceeds. Unless the horn has been professionally cleaned recently, a cleaning fee will also be taken out of the proceeds. Patterson Hornworks will determine which service(s) the instrument needs, if any. The cleaning fee includes a full ultrasonic cleaning, new strings and rotor bumpers, and minor repair (including small cosmetic improvements). If the consignee’s item requires extensive repair it will be placed on our schedule, the cost of the repairs will be billed to you separately, and payment will be due upon completion of the work, at which time it will be listed on our website.

Either the consigner or Patterson Hornworks can choose to cease the consignment of the item at any time. If a consignment ends without a sale (for any reason) the consigner will be responsible for any work that may have been done to the horn. Transportation to and from Patterson Hornworks is the consigner’s responsibility. The consigner’s property will be covered under Patterson Hornworks’ liability insurance policy and we will make all reasonable efforts to protect the instrument, however, the consigner agrees not to hold Patterson Hornworks or any of its agents liable for unrecoverable loss in case of theft, fire, terrorism, transit loss, natural disaster, or Act of God. We recommend that the consigner maintain insurance on their property.
